Most moving
companies offer a backloading removals service and they often refer
to is as door to door. Meaning that they will collect the goods from
your old home, transport them for you and deliver them to your new
home and that is all. It does not usually include the arranging of
furniture in each room or placing boxes in the correct rooms at the
delivery point. A backload is a basic and economical service for
those who want to save a few dollars.
This means that
all packing of moving boxes and disassembly of furniture will have
to be done by you and everything should be packed and ready to be
loaded into the moving truck when the backloading removalists arrive
at your home to collect your furniture. Upon delivery they will
likely place your items in the garage or first large room inside the
house as backloading rates do not often include the placement of
furniture and boxes into the specific rooms where they belong in
your new home.
With backload
removals, your goods will not be the only load in the moving truck,
so you do not have to pay for the use of the whole truck and this is
what makes it much more cost effective. However, because you are not
the only backload removal in the vehicle, you will need to double
check with the backload removalist what your expected delivery date
will be. As there may be several stops for other collection and
deliveries along the way.
Although
backloading companies often use cargo nets to keep loads separate in
the vehicle, you may want to label or tag each of your items that
goes into the vehicle, just in case there is a mix up at some point.
